Advocacy for Street Children and Youth Networking Action, Timor Leste

AGCR is a community-based Work of Street Children and Youth Training and Networking in Action within the subdistrict of Lacluta, district of Viqueque, Timor-Leste.  AGCR is formally formed in Portuguese as Associação Grupo de Comunidade Rural or in English is the association of rural community group.  

 

AGCR was legalized by the National Notary under the Ministry of Justice in Timor-Leste on September 13, 2013 as a national association along with several programs as followed:  

  1. English training course    

  2. Portuguese training course  

  3. Computer training course 

  4. Reading and Painting Activity for Vulnerable Children  

  5. Home Garden 

  

In fact, AGCR has launched the activity of promoting the Career Development and Employment inside the young country of Timor-Leste.  

 

Since the year of 2013 until the current time, AGCR has been conducting the programs of English training courses, computer programs of Microsoft office word, PowerPoint and Excel for local youth and people who work in local government office and the Street Educational Program towards the Children within several places as in capital of Dili, Baucau, Lacluta, Soibada, Craras and Viqueque town.  

 

Indeed, we are focusing on providing the capacity building programs in order to prepare the participants to find jobs inside and onsite the country, train the local government staff to learn of using the computer programs and help the local vulnerable children to learn of reading, writing and painting in English. In addition, AGCR also has created very strong partnership with local government while implementing activities on the ground.
